Having performed in Las Vegas at the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame’s Movers, Shakers and Innovators Showcase, the Americana Burlesque & Sideshow Festival 2013 & 2014 and the inaugural 2013 Iowa Burlesque Festival, this bittersweet beauty is just the right mix of elegance with a hint of humor. The Infamous Nina Nightshade will excite you with her costumes, entrance you with her dancers grace and show you why she is known to have “quite a few tricks up her sleeve”.
Seeking new opportunities to get on stage, Nina is always working on different acts, bigger and better costumes and fresh ways to excite audiences. Miss Nightshade has a passion for being on stage, it feeds her soul. That passion is evident in her performances.
Having extensive dance and costuming experience, Nina started her dancing career as Nina al Tawhil, a belly dance performer and instructor. After discovering the world of Burlesque, Nina found a calling that she couldn’t ignore.
Since donning her first pair of pasties at the Glam-o-Rama Girly Show, she has performed all over the United States and Canada including such shows as Rosehip Revue, Kitty Nights, Prettythings Peepshow, ABSFest, Hubba Hubba Review and is an honorary member of Tight and Nerdy: an all Weird Al burlesque troupe. A lover of live music, she has performed with the Stolen Sweets, Curtis Eller's American Circus, Soggy Po Boys, Pink Lady and the John Bennett Band, and Orchestre L’Pow.
Additionally, she is not only a performer, she is a producer. Nina has put on numerous sold-out theater shows in Salem and Portland. Under the name Bergamot Burlesque, she has hosted such talent as burlesque living legends Dee Milo & Toni Elling, Tiffany Carter, boylesque sensation Waxie Moon and International Burlesque Emcee, Vincent Drambuie. She is also a co-producer of Rue Royale Burlesque, host to headliners such as the Stage Door Johnnies, Shanghai Pearl and Iva Handfull “Whether taking the stage, donning her producer hat, or both, you can count on her extreme professionalism and pin-pointed organization.”
