"As someone who learned from this incredible artist and educator how to move my broken body in a way that finally reconnected me to my true essence, I cannot endorse Nina Nightshade enough! ...her teaching style is patient and thorough, thoughtful and fun... She changed my relationship with myself in a necessary, powerful way and helped release my inner power through graceful movement, humor and bawdy sensuality."

April 10 - 7:30-9:00pm
Poise & Stage Presence - How to make a lasting impression on your audience
Great performance isn’t just about nailing your choreography or getting the costume just right, it’s also about the attitude you carry on stage and the connection you make with your audience. In this interactive workshop The Infamous Nina Nightshade will show you how to make a lasting impression using poise and stage presence. During the workshop we will explore what “poise” and “stage presence” mean, how to use various movement tools such as posture and moments of stillness to entrance your audience, and how to keep that audience connection with things go wrong. This 90-minute course will be a mixture of lecture and movement. Come dressed to move. Bring water, note taking supplies, and your favorite performance/practice shoes. Class will be capped at 12 participants.
May 8 - 7:30-9:00pm
How to get the gig... and how to keep them coming: Marketing, professionalism, and etiquette for new performers
You’ve created an act you’re excited about, now how do you get it on stage? This workshop will take you through the basics on how to get booked in shows and, perhaps more importantly, how to keep those bookings coming. In this 90-minute course The Infamous Nina Nightshade will share tips and tricks regarding marketing, networking, social media, professionalism, and backstage etiquette she has picked up after 15 years as a performer and producer. Class will be part lecture, part interactive discussion. Bring note taking supplies. Class will be capped at 12 participants
June 12 - 7:30-9:00pm
Stumped On The Floor: Dance movement and musicality for non-dancers
You don’t have to be a “dancer” to use dance movement and musicality in your performances. Pulling from over 30 years dance experience of various forms, The Infamous Nina Nightshade will teach you the basics of dance postures and movements you can use in your burlesque performance. Course will also include basic concepts in what “musicality” means and how it can make an impact in your acts even if you don’t dance. As the name implies, no dance experience is required for this course, but be ready to move. Come dressed to move. Bring water, note taking supplies, and your favorite performance/practice shoes. Class will be capped at 12 participants.
